Another landmark decision was made during the same period when, in 1971, Beta became the first Italian company to sponsor a racing team. The brand became famous when, in 1975, the bright orange Beta/March Formula 1 car of Vittorio Brambilla won a historic rain soaked victory at the Austrian Grand Prix. Beta would forever be linked to racing from that moment forward, going on to find glory with such outstanding teams as Ferrari, Williams, McLaren, Suzuki, Aprilia and Yamaha.
