In 1939 Damiano Ciceri succeeded his father and, despite the unfavorable economic conditions as World War II approached, he made it possible for the business to grow. The reputation for quality was upheld throughout the difficult period of the War as a result of a decision to suspend manufacturing of open-end wrenches because the quality of available steel was not to the company’s standards.
